Mao Zedong’s private jet is up for sale. The jet is currently showcased in a shopping mall, but the mall owners say that they need to sell the aircraft to make room for parking spaces.

Property developers placed the plane in the mall in 1999. Initially, the Trident, a 46m jet designed for short travels, was for advertising purposes.

This model was one of three jets that are used by used by three influential figures in China. One was used by Mao’s last wife and the other was owned by Lin Biao, Mao’s heir apparent.
